<p>PURPOSE:To securely remove unnecessary picture elements by finding the variation curve of the weight of the shadow image of each target spot to a specific dielectric constant and regarding a spot which does not has its peak nearby the specific dielectric constant of the earth at the burying position of a target as the unnecessary picture element. CONSTITUTION:Such a target spot in image data that the weight of its shadow image exceeds a prescribed level is detected and the composite aperture processing of original reflected wave profiled data is performed by using an initially set specific dielectric constant epsilon. Namely, it is considered that there is the buried target at the position of each spot, and data are integrated according to an assumed hyperbola to obtain the weight Si(epsilon) of the shadow image of each spot. The weight Si(epsilon) is plotted, the specific dielectric constant epsilon is increased by a prescribed value DELTAepsilon, and the composite aperture processing is repeated until it reaches the prescribed value. The variation curve of the weight Si(epsilon) of a spot where no target is present to the specific dielectric constant epsilon is not uniform. Therefore, spots having variation curves having no peaks nearby the specific dielectric constant epsilons of the earth are removed as unnecessary picture elements.</p> |
