The invention relates to a modular self-contained appliance intended to raise any load intended to be stored in the air away from ground level. The module assembly figure 1 consists of two vertical traction masts 3 and 4 fixed on either side onto the base 2 and both simultaneously serving to lift, from ground level, the two carriages 5 which slide upwards in each mast. Each carriage 5 has articulated fasteners supporting adjustable or nonadjustable arms 6 which receive, in their end-fitting 7, various supports which are matched to the load to be lifted, the base 2, which rests on the ground, is equipped at the ends with stabilising cross-members 9 and 10 and with a system 11 for connecting and wedging.
