PURPOSE:An adminiculum for absorbing a drug for intestine administration effective for assisting the absorption of a pharmaceutically active substance required to maintain its blood concentration higher than its minimum blood concentration value for a long time in case of intestine medication, containing an extract of crude drug containing a saponin component as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An adminiculum for absorbing a drug for intestine administration for assisting the absorption of a pharmaceutically active substance (a drug such as penicillins, e.g. ampicillin, cyclacillin, cephalosporins, e.g., cephalexin, etc. requied to maintain its blood concentration higher than its minimum blood concentration value for a long time in case of intestine medication) administered to the intestine, comprising an extract of crude drug (e.g., Sapindus mukurossi Gaertn., its bark, etc.) containing a saponin component as an active ingredient. A triterpenoidsaponin shown by the formulaI(R is a group shown by the formula II or III or IV) is preferable as the extract of crude drug. The adminiculum for absorving the drug is in the form of suppository consisting of the pharmaceutically active substance, the extract of crude drug containing a saponin component and an excipient. |
