PURPOSE:To improve rigidity and productivity, by providing a mounting flange part collided with the under surface of a cylinder block, support parts, respectively collided with the under surface and the two sides of a main bearing cap, and a membrane part to interconnect the parts. CONSTITUTION:An upper end part 3a of a main bearing cap 3 is engaged with an engaging part 2a formed in a crank journal 2 of a cylinder head 1, and the two parts are fastened together by means of two each of long and short cap bolts 5 and 6. A lower case 7 is secured to a skirt part 1a of a cylinder head 1. In this case, the lower case 7 has a mounting flange part 7a secured to the lower edge of a skirt part 1a by means of a fixing bolt 20B. An under surface support part 7b collided with a cap under surface 3b and two side support parts 7c collided with two sides 3c are formed to the lower case 7. Parts 7a-7c are interconnected through a membrane part 7n. |
