PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of catalytic activity due to soldering material by forming a recess on the top of a corrugated plate and receiving soldering material in this recess for connecting the corrugated plate with a flat plate, in base material of a carrier having a honeycomb structure with lamination of a flat plate and a corrugated plate made of heat-resistant metal. CONSTITUTION:Base material of a carrier for exhaust emission purifying catalyser has a honeycomb construction caused by laminating a flat plate 1 and a corrugated plate 10. The plate 1 and the corrugated plate 10 are formed with a heat-resistant metal having the composition of Cr-Al-Fe or the like. In this case, the corrugated plate 10 is formed with widthwise extended recesses 10a on the respective ridges, and soldering material 6 such as BNi No.5 solders is spread in these recesses 10a. And by piling this corrugated plate 10 and the flat plate 1, and winding them on a roll, a honeycomb construction can be obtained, and by heating this in a heating furnace and fusing the soldering material, jointing of the flat plate 1 and the corrugated plate 10 can be performed. |
