The present invention relates to a device for cutting any material, particularly wood, straight. The cut is made with the aid of a hand saw or electric saw. This device consists of a metal rule and of two clamping devices of the "sash clamp" type. The device is placed on the material to be cut on the drawing edge. When the rule is in place it is clamped on each side of the material to be cut with the aid of the two devices of the "sash clamp" type. The rule thus grips the cutting guide. This device is very quickly installed and also very easy to remove. <IMAGE>
