PURPOSE:To make the surrounding space of a photosensitive body effective so as to reduce the diameter of the photosensitive body by driving a side eraser to its operating or refuging position by means of a driving means in accordance with a preset copying magnification. CONSTITUTION:The side eraser 4 is held by the holder 41 of a side eraser driving means 40 coupled with a copying machine frame by means of a fulcrum 42 in a rotatable state and disposed to its refuging position Q when the copying magnification is >=1 and to its operating position P near the photosensitive body 1 at the time of reduction copying by a solenoid SOL controlled by a microcomputer. The operating position P is the nearest to the optical path L from the 6th mirror 34 toward the photosensitive body 1 at the time of reduction copying and at the position P, the eraser 4 does not intercept the optical path L even when the width of the optical path becomes the widest at the time of reduction copying. When the copying magnification is >=1 at which the side eraser 4 is disposed to the refuging position Q, the space of the operating position P is provided to the optical path L. |
