The multi-frequency ultrasonic examination device described which is to be applied to not least in medical diagnostics, permits structures of a specific magnitude to be represented selectively. Alternatively, sectional images can be generated which avoid the contrast of structures of a specific magnitude being amplified or attenuated randomly. In addition, the sectional images obtained by using a plurality of frequencies are poorer in artefacts and richer in contrast.
