POLARIZED WAVE MAINTAINING OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To visually recognize the position of the principal axis of polarized waves from the outside by forming colored sections at the position of the principal axis (X-axis) of polarized waves at the coated part or another positions which are deviated from the principal axis by an appropriate angle. CONSTITUTION:Colored sections 2 formed at positions deviated from the principal axis (X-axis) of polarized waves by fixed angles at the coated part 1 of an optical fiber are formed on both sides of the optical fiber in belt-like forms. The widths of the colored sections 2 on both sides are equal to each other and the angular deviations of the sections 2 from the principal axis (X-axis) are <=1 deg.. The colored sections 2 can be formed at the same position as that of the principal axis or positions deviated from the main axis by 90 deg. or an appropriate angle. Therefore, the position of the principal axis can be confirmed visually.
