Device for measuring the pH value in the meat of slaughtered animals

A device for measuring pH values in the meat of slaughtered animals has a combined pH measuring and reference electrode inside a protective sleeve which is suitable for inerting into the meat. The combined pH measuring and reference electrode is in electronic contact with an electronic data processing and data display device. The electrode which projects freely with its front measuring tip from the front end of the pistol-barrel-like protective sleeve is glued in the protective sleeve in a firm and liquid-tight manner. The rear end of the protective sleeve is provided with a mechanical coupling for liquid-tight connection to an opening in the front side of a housing which receives the electronic arrangement and which has, at its opposite rear side, a viewing window for indicating the measurement data. Connected to the bottom of the housing is a pistol-like handle which, with the axis of the protective sleeve, forms an angle which makes possible easy insertion of the protective sleeve by hand into the meat.
