PURPOSE:To contrive an improvement in thermal efficiency of an engine by arranging a relative rotation control means between a driving member and a driven member with respect to said members in addition to spring mechanism which allows both of the members to be relatively rotated, and concurrently providing a control means. CONSTITUTION:In a torque change control mechanism 22, an engine 10 allows a coil spring 38 to be oscillated resonantly by a current control circuit 50. Or when the engine is in operation wherein knocking is susceptible, exciting current is supplied to a powder clutch 30. However, in case of time other than that, exciting current to the clutch 30 is suspended. And in a state that a restraining action against the relative rotation of a driving member 24 and a flywheel 15 is strengthened, the angular velocity of a crank shaft 20 is changed comparatively in a slow pace. And in a state that the driving member 24 and the wheel 25 can be relatively rotated freely in comparison, the angular velocity of the crank shaft 20 is rapidly changed in comparison. This permits the fluctuation in the angular velocity of the crank shaft 20 becomes great while the angular velocity of the shaft 20 in the vicinity of the compression upper dead center of a piston becomes low. |
