PURPOSE:To obtain the org. nonlinear optical element which hardly attains reversal symmetry in a use state, has substantially no absorption in a visible region and exhibits a high nonlinear optical effect by forming the material of a specific compd. CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by the formula I is used. In the formula I, D denotes an electron donating group; C denotes a monovalent org. group; R denotes a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl group or aryl group; m denotes 1-3 integer; n denotes 0-3 integer. The electron donating group expressed by D is a halogen atom or of Hammett of sigma p<0 and is exemplified by, for example, an amino group, substd. amino group, etc. The org. nonlinear optical material which has substantially no absorption in the visible region and hardly attains the reversal symmetry in the use state and with which high higher harmonic generation is obtainable is thereby obtd. |
