The invention relates to a hard container with a housing (26) which has an opening (28) via which an electronic device can be introduced into the housing (26) which, in turn, has a U-shaped synthetic resin carrying handle which is provided with a projection (44) on each side surface (40) of the housing (26) in the region of the opening. The projections (44) are of flattened shape in each case and are arranged on the housing (26) with a long axis directed along the side surfaces (40) of the housing (26). The proximal ends of two arms (36) of the carrying handle are provided with gripping openings (46) which each have a circular opening section (48) which is flexible at its inner edge and has a diameter which is slightly smaller than the length of the projection (44), seen in the direction of the long axis of the projection (44), but is larger than the width of the projection (44), seen in the direction of the short axis of the projection. Additionally, each gripping opening (46) has a slot which projects from the inner edge of the circular opening section (48) to a gripping part of the gripping handle and whose width is greater in the direction of the short axis of the projection (44) than the width of the latter so that the projection (44) can be positioned with its long axis directed in the longitudinal direction of the arm (36) in the circular opening section (48).
