PURPOSE:To absorb the fatigue and deterioration of a photosensitive body, deterioration of an exposure lamp, and contamination of an optical system by detecting the surface potential of the photosensitive body and matching a light quantity remote value. CONSTITUTION:An original density detecting means 01 which detects the density of a reference density member, arithmetic process controlling means 06 to which the density signal detected by the means 01 is inputted, and exposure means 07 controlled by the means 06 are provided. Then, by executing a set-up cycle only at the first starting time after turning on the power supply, the photosensitive body is exposed to the reflected light trays from a V0.2G reference plate and the then surface potential in each copy frame is detected. Then the light quantity remote value is matched by a limited number of times in the two stages of coarse and fine adjustment so that the detected surface potential can go to an aimed value. Therefore, the fatigue and deterioration of the photosensitive body, deterioration of the exposure lamp, and contamination of the optical system can be absorbed and the influence of the intrasurface unevenness of the photosensitive body can be eliminated. |
