Sealing system for saddleback roof

Known ridge seals make provision, beneath the ridge tiles, for sealing strips which extend from the ridge batten and overlap to a limited extent the roofing tiles which border the ridge. The overhang, which has to be accepted in this case, of the sealing strips over the ridge tiles results, on the one hand, in an impairment in terms of the appearance of the roof and, on the other hand, in a reduction in the service life of the sealing strips, at least in their border region. It is now proposed to make provision for a sealing element (31) which extends from the roof batten (13) which borders the ridge, runs as far as the second row (212), starting from the ridge, of the roofing tiles (21) and, for its part, is engaged over by an apron (36) which extends from the ridge batten (13). It is thus possible to permit the sealing element (31) to terminate at a distance from the lower edge of the roofing tiles (21) which engage over it and belong to the first row of tiles (211), starting from the ridge; the appearance of the roof is thus no longer impaired by said ridge sealing; the seal is also no longer subjected to any reduction in its service life and it offers, furthermore, better protection against precipitation water. <IMAGE>
