摘要 In order to be able thermally to dispose of major quantities of liquefiable solid waste, in particular plastic, it is provided according to the process of the invention that the waste (A) is first converted into a liquid melt (S) in a heated fusion reactor (2) and that the melt (S) is then fed to a combustion, carbonisation or pyrolysis unit (4) for thermal disposal. An arrangement for carrying out the process is characterised by a heatable fusion reactor (2) with at least one charging orifice (6) for the liquefiable solid waste (A) and a heating device (12) for the waste (A), a combustion, carbonisation or pyrolysis unit (4) and a first conveying line (14) for conveying liquid melt (S), which first conveying line (14) is located between the fusion reactor (2) and the combustion, carbonisation or pyrolysis unit (4). The fusion reactor (2) is in particular of cylindrical design; it can taper downwards, so that non-fusible materials collect in the lower part and can be withdrawn through an opening (32, 58). <IMAGE>
