Three-dimensionally formed outsides of furniture doors are produced by milling and carving solid wood. So-called medium-density fibreboards are also shaped to form three-dimensional shaped articles by subsequent milling. However, these methods are expensive and require a lot of work by hand. In order to produce the shaped part inexpensively and with low reject rates in such a way that the two sides of the shaped part are differently shaped, a profiled top side is provided on at least one shaped element which is joined to a base body. The base body may be a conventional board, while the shaped element may have any desired shaping. The shaped part is suitable for forming furniture doors such that on the inside they have the same surface shape as the insides of the furniture, while the outside of the furniture door may have the desired profile. A conventional particle board which does not warp may be provided as base body.
