PURPOSE:To display a correct speed and distance even when a wheel diameter is altered, by a method wherein an electric signal proportional to the speed of rotation of a wheel is corrected in accordance with external setting. CONSTITUTION:A detector 22 is provided with a disk-shaped magnet gearing with rotation of a front wheel and a counter 27 counting pulses generated in accordance with rotation of said magnet, and it supplies a signal of pulse numbers proportional to the speed of rotation of the front wheel, to a comparator 37 of a corrector 24. The comparator 37 compares the signal from the counter 27 with a comparative value from a selector 35 to obtain a running distance (speed) for a unit time and supplies the same to a speed meter 33, an integrator 38 for a running distance meter (trip meter) 31 and an integrator 39 for a section trip meter 32. When a knob 34 for correction is rotated, the selector 5 is switched and thereby one of different comparative values in a plurality stored in a memory 36 is selected and inputted to the comparator 37. Then a correct information on running can be displayed even when the front wheel is replaced by the one having a different outside diameter. |
