PURPOSE:To prevent deposit/payment transaction from being stopped due to a failure in a customer detecting sensor and to improve the efficiency of transaction processing by displaying an operation picture for deposit/payment transaction when a customer is not detected within a prescribed range of an automatic transaction device by a detecting means and the insertion of a recording medium is detected. CONSTITUTION:During the operation of the automatic transaction machine, a lamp 21 indicating the execution of operation is lighted on a sort display device 19. A main control part 27 displays an initial picture indicating a transaction item on a CRT 9 and sets up a customer detecting timer in a RAM to count up 60 seconds. When the customer detecting sensor 11 detects no customer for >=60sec, the CRT 9 is turned off. When no customer is detected and a magnetic card is inserted from a card insertion port 13, the main control part 27 decides the failure of the sensor 11, lights up the lamp 21 and displays the initial picture. At the time of detecting customer's card insertion or the like, the main control part 27 executes transaction processing in response to transaction selected by the customer. Even when the customer detecting sensor 11 is failed, the processing is not stopped and the efficiency of deposit/ payment transaction is not reduced. |
