PURPOSE:To repair a defect by forming an injection layer of high polymer resin in a defect of a water repellent layer and porous catalytic layer in a joint portion of a tube formed with a sheet of a three layer structure. CONSTITUTION:A sheet comprising a three layer structure of a water repellent layer having oxygen gas penetrating capability, a porous catalytic layer having oxygen gas reducing capability, and a current collecting layer is bent or hold in a specified shape with the water repellent layer outside. Both ends of the sheet are lapped and the lapped portion is joined to form a cylindrical or a square tube-shaped electrode. The current collecting layer of the lapped portion is joined by welding, and an injection layer of chemical resistant high polymer resin is formed in a defect of the water repellent layer and porous catalytic layer in the joint portion. Mechanical strength of the air electrode is increased by welding of the current collecting layer, and electrolyte leakage resistance in the lapped portion is enhanced by filling chemical resistant high polymer resin. |
