The road bollard, especially for indicating the presence of a slip road, pedestrian island or lane separation, consists of a hollow plastics post (10) with reflective surfaces (16), and a separate base (22) which fixes to thee road e.g. by an anchor bolt (32). The post and base have matching cylindrical surfaces which fit together, with connecting elements (36) fixing them together, with either the post or connecting elements made so that they shear under a given impact. The post is preferably prismatic in shape so that it will not roll on its own, while the base has its own reflective surface so that it can be employed without the post. |
