<p>The bearing (2) is supplied with gas, typically nitrogen, at a pressure greater than that exerted by zinc, so as to act as a seal. The gas tends to escape through an opening in a bearing flange (5). The gas circulation cools the bearing. Balls or rollers (4) and a shaft (6) are also cooled as the flow goes between inlet (1) and outlet (3) pipes.</p> |
