PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and repetitive characteristics by using a polycyclic quinone compd. and a specified compd. in combination. CONSTITUTION:A layer contg. a polycyclic quinone compd. and a compd. represented by formula I as carrier generating substances is formed. In the formula I, each of X<1> and X<2> is halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, cyano, hydroxy or amino, each of p, q, m and n is 0, 1 or 2 and A is a group represented by formula II (where Ar is an arom. carbocyclic group or an arom. heterocyclic group having a fluorohydrocarbon group and Z is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form an arom. carbon ring or an arom. hetero ring). Photosensitivity proper to the polycyclic quinone compd. can be maintained while increasing sensitivity in a longer wavelength range of >=570nm and superior sensitivity and repetitive characteristics can be obtd. |
