PURPOSE:To obtain a hermetically sealed container excellent in sanitary and long- period preservation quality, by filling cattle meat in a container consisting of polyethylene terephthalate resin, smoking the meat, hermetically sealing an opening thereof with a lid material of a heat-resistant thermoplastic resin and subjecting the hermetically sealed meat to boiling in hot water and sterilizing treatment. CONSTITUTION:Cattle meat is filled in a container consisting essentially of polyethylene terephthalate resin to carry out smoking treatment. An opening of the above-mentioned container is then hermetically sealed with a lid material of a heat-resistant thermoplastic resin and boiling in hot water and sterilizing treatment then is carried out to provide the aimed hermetically sealed container. A molded product consisting essentially of the polyethylene terephthalate resin desirably has >=10%, preferably <60% crystallinity in order to provide the resultant container with high heat resistance. If the crystallinity exceeds 60%, thermal shock strength as the container is reduced. A method for reheating a once molded product to 120-170 deg.C crystallization temperature or increasing the metallic mold temperature in molding can be used for obtaining the above-mentioned crystallinity. |
