PURPOSE:To strengthen electrical dielectric capability of a trigger electrode by connecting a capacitor circuit to respective main discharge electrodes disposed in opposition in a gas laser tube and connecting the trigger electrode to a junction of respective capacitors. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor circuit composed of a series circuit of a capacitor 10 and a voltage-dividing capacitor 11 is connected between respective main discharge electrodes 2, 3 of a cathode and an anode, and a junction between the capacitors 10 and 11 is connected to a trigger electrode 4. With such construction, a voltage applied between core wires 5 of the electrodes 2, 4 is a value divided by equivalent capacitance between the capacitors 10, 11 and the electrodes 2, 4. Therefore, the voltage applied between the electrodes 2, 4 can be reduced to prevent dielectric breakdown of an insulating tube 6. Additionally, a trigger current between the electrodes 4, 2 oscillates at a high frequency and hence can flow over a relatively long period of time. Thus, the efficiency of preionization can be improved. |
