A wheel comprises an assembly of two main parts A, B, produced by casting or stamping with little subsequent machining, the assembly having in radial cross.section a profile resembling two radially opposed " V's," their apices joined and the axially facing angles of the joint being rounded. Figs. 1 (not shown) and 2 illustrate how the respectively flat and conical beads of tyres are supported on complementarily shaped rims. The inward facing " V " may be closed by two flanges 4, 4<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 2) or by an annulus (10) (Fig. 3, not shown) or merely bridged by cross-bracing members. |
