PURPOSE:To easily bring the present position of the own car to matching with a road on a storage map by setting many nodes onto a storage road, comparing the direction of each nd and the running azimuth of the own car and deciding a specific node. CONSTITUTION:When the present position of the own car which has been conjectured by an own car position conjecturing means 3 is brought to matching with a road on a map which has been stored in advance by a map matching means 5, since many nodes are set onto a road stored in advance as map information which has been stored in a map information storage means 4, a node selecting means 6 compares the direction of each node from the present position has been obtained by the means 3, and the advance direction of the own car which has been obtained by an azimuth detecting means 1, and selects and decides a specific node to which the own car is going. Therefore, a specific road along which the own car is running actually can be easily decided, and matching by the means 5 can be very easily executed. |
