PURPOSE:To mark the title product with an identification symbol having superior characteristics by forming a ceramic molded body having a rugged part for the symbol, sintering the molded body in an atmosphere of gaseous nitrogen to form a black layer on the surface and removing the rugged part by grinding. CONSTITUTION:A molded body of ceramic such as silicon nitride, aluminum nitride or sialon having a rugged part of >=0.5mm height for an identification symbol is formed. This molded body is sintered by heating in an atmosphere of gaseous nitrogen to form a black layer on the surface and the rugged part is removed by grinding. The ceramic sintered body is marked with an identification symbol by the color difference between the black surface layer and the nonblack interior layer. |
