PURPOSE:To securely prevent the electrostatic charging of toner on a supply roller from increasing and to obtain sufficient image density by bringing a toner scraping member into contact the toner supply roller when developing an electrostatic latent image on a recording carrier by opposing a nonmagnetic single-component toner layer forming on the surface of a developing roller to the electrostatic latent image. CONSTITUTION:When development is performed, toner is supplied to the developing roller by the rotation of the toner supply roller 57 and the toner is layered by a toner layer forming blade 59 and scattered to the electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive body 2, thereby visualizing the image. Then toner remaining on the toner 56 is collected in a casing 53 by passing a recovery blade 60, and this operation is repeated. In this constitution, the toner scraping member 61 made of a porous foamed member of soft urethane of normal pore size is made to contact the toner supply roller 57 to a 0-1mm pressing quantity. Consequently, the toner on the roller 57 is replaced and an increase in electrostatic charging due to the circulation of the same toner is eliminated. |
