NEW MATERIAL:A water-soluble phthalocyanine compound which, in the form of a free acid, is represented by formula I wherein Pc is a metal-free or metal- containing phthalocyanine residue, A is formula II, III or the like, B is OH, NH2 or the like, alpha is 1-3, beta is 0-2, gamma is 1-4, alpha+beta+gamma<=4, and SO3H, SO2A and SO2B bonded to Pc are each to be bonded to different benzene rings of the phthalocyanine residue, and the metal in the case where Pc contains a metal is copper, zinc, aluminum or nickel. USE:A blue or green anionic dye having a good dyeing property for natural proteinaceous polymers or cationic synthetic resins, good spectral characteristics and good light fastness. PREPARATION:A sulfonyl chloride of formula IV is condensed with a compound of H-A and, optionally, further with a compound of formula V to obtain the purpose compound. |
