A sheet metal container having a lid 3, seamed on as shown, comprises an annular weakened band running round the container and forming the upper surface of an annular corrugation 5, the band being weakest along a line 4. The container may be cut through with a knife along the line 4 to open it; or it may be opened by pressing down on the seam at a series of positions round its periphery thereby causing the metal along the line 4 to fracture. |
