The device consists of a carriage which is pulled or motorized, and on which are mounted: a. at least one support 4 for the coil 3, which is freely rotatable on a vertical axis, b. a deflection roller 16 bearing on the stake 19 during the installation of the continuous element 6, c. and at least one member for tensioning the continuous element 6 when the latter is unwound between the coil 3 and the deflection roller. This device permits the precise positioning of the wire netting or of the barbed or smooth wires constituting the fencing, simply by moving the device from one stake 19 of the fencing to the other stake 20. <IMAGE>
