PURPOSE:To obtain a hermetically sealed stable can having excellent fashionability and a firmly roll-clamped part by positioning a seam band in a can barrel, and sectorially spreading the lower end of the can barrel. CONSTITUTION:The can barrel 3 is necked like an ordinary necking can, the projecting degree of the projecting part 5 is determined by the drawing degree of necking, and the projecting degree increases as the drawing degree of necking is made lower than the sum of the seam band thickness and the can barrel sheet thickness. Flanging is carried out after necking to obtain a can barrel 3. A can lid is clamped to the can barrel 3 by an ordinary seamer in double rolls, and a double-roll can body is obtained. The seam band 1 is pushed in by a push-fitting device to a position inside an edge 4 where the top 2 of the band 1 is made almost flush with the folded edge 4 of the can barrel 3, and a desired projecting can body can be obtained. |
