PURPOSE:To enhance the manipulatabiIity of a seat assembly composed of two laterally split seats one of which may be moved rearward only when the seat back of the other seat is tilted forward, and by providing holding means which may be released simultaneously by a release means, in the seats, respectively. CONSTITUTION:One 3a of two laterally split sheets 3a, 3b of a rear seat assembly may be moved rearward along a lower rail 5b, and the other seat 3b has a seat back 3f which may be tilted forward. A seat movement regulating means 6 inhibits the seat 3a from moving rearward when the seat back 3f is upright, but allows the seat 3a to move rearward when the seat back is tilted forward. In this arrangement, a first holding means 9a for regulating the longitudinal movement of the seat 3a so as to hold the same at a predetermined position, and a second holding means 9b for holding the seat 3b in an upright condition are provided, and are integrally coupled to a release lever 10. |
