Device and method for adjusting the height of a vehicle

A device for adjusting the height of a vehicle is described, which comprises an angle of rotation sensor for sensing the height of the vehicle. The angle of rotation sensor comprises a rotary disc with two sets of slots, which are respectively arranged in series in a circumferential direction on different radii and with a phase difference of 90@ on the circular disc. The angle of rotation sensor furthermore comprises a semi-circular slot on the outer circumference of the rotary disc. A neutral position of the operating range of the rotary disc is fixed as a boundary edge of the semi-circular slot. The semi-circular slot is sensed in order to determine whether the vehicle height lies above or below the neutral position of the circular disc. A height adjusting mechanism is moved in a vertical direction according to the data from a detector. The device monitors the direction of rotation and the angle of rotation covered by the circular disc.
