PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer material containing yellow coloring matter, which is excellent in spectral characteristic and lightfastness, by a method wherein specific coloring matter is contained in a color material layer on a base material. CONSTITUTION:A color material layer containing coloring matter represented by the formula (1) is established on a base material. Polyamide resin, polyester resin, etc., are used as binder resin used together with coloring matter, and water, alcoholic solvent, etc., are used as ink solvent in which coloring matter and binder resin are dissolved or dispersed. As the base material, various kinds of converted paper and films of polyester, polyamide, polycarbonate, etc., are exemplified, and ink is applied to the base material by using a reverse roll coater, a gravure coater, etc. Since this coloring matter has clear yellow, it is suitable for obtaining fullcolored recording which is good in color reproducibility by combining cyan coloring matter and magenta coloring matter therewith. Then, recording of high color density can be obtained at high speed, and the shelf life of recording is excellent. |
