The false ceiling comprises a strip (3) with a slot (9) open at the bottom, delimited by two vertical side-pieces (5, 7) of different heights, namely a first side-piece (5) of reduced height and a second side-piece of greater height and extending further downwards than the first side-piece. The first side-piece (5) of reduced height of the strip terminates, at its lower end, in the shoulder (8) which extends horizontally in the direction of the second side-piece (7) of greater height and stops at a distance from the latter to delimit, between the second side-piece (7) and the shoulder (8), a passage for introduction of the hook (10) upwardly into the slot (9).
