For height-adjustable and position-stabilised suspension of a luminaire by means of holding elements in the form of strips, it is proposed to fasten those ends of said holding elements which lie opposite the luminaire in a winding chamber in such a manner that they can be wound up and unwound, a plurality of holding elements being fitted either so that they lie on top of one another in the same winding chamber in the same winding direction or in different winding chambers which are connected to each other in terms of rotation, in such a manner that their winding diameters are always almost the same.
