There is described an electrophoresis device (20) having a support rails (29, 30) for a gel plate assembly (40), and means for clamping such plate assemblies to the support. The support rails provide a surface that is inclined at an angle of between about 5 DEG and about 10 DEG from the vertical, so that the bottom of the plate assembly is closer to the user than is the top. |
