The invention relates to a device for shutting off large hot-gas pipes, with a vane which can be pivoted by a driving device, the driving device comprising at least one prestressed energy store with a flat spring characteristic. An approximately constant closing pressure and hence reliable sealing is thereby guaranteed irrespective of any wear that occurs and of thermally induced deformation.
