Lock cylinder with a housing, a cylinder drum and rotatable disc tumblers. It is provided a rotation-preventing disc which is rotationally fixed during the insertion of the key and the key orifice of which cooperates non-rotatably with the key profile, so that the key cannot be rotated during insertion or withdrawal. Provided on the key is a control cam, by means of which the rotation-preventing disc is transferred out of the rotationally fixed position into a rotationally free position.
