A trailer control valve (1) for motor vehicle brake systems has a shut-off valve (8), controllable by way of a differential force and incorporated in the housing (2) of the trailer control valve, the control piston (16) of which shut-off valve is acted upon on one side by a control pressure to the trailer control valve (1) and on the other side by the modulated brake pressure of the trailer control valve. A supply line (10) leading to the trailer by way of the shut-off valve (8) is provided, from which the line leading to the inlet seat of the trailer control valve branches off downstream of the shut-off valve (8).
