<p>The invention relates to a method for directing an oil layer (9, 13) floating atop a water bed (14) to collecting means (3). Said method uses damming equipment (7) to raise the top surface (10a) of said oil layer (9, 13). A water bed (14) reaching from the accumulation point (6) to said collecting means (3) is used as a medium for transporting said oil layer (13), said water bed (14) at the same time being kept essentially immobile under said oil layer (13). Said oil layer (13) floating atop said water bed (14) is made to move to said collecting means (3) on an essentially horizontal plane and said oil is collected from the surface of the water. The invention also relates to an oil collection arrangement where an oil layer (13) floating on the surface (11) of a water bed (14) is transported essentially horizontally to collecting devices (3), the movement of said water bed (14) being simultaneously restricted. Used on board an oil collecting vessel the arrangement comprises a system of channels (5) comprising collecting means (3) and equipment (2, 22) for limiting the movement of said water bed (14).</p> |
