The invention relates to a controllable shut-off device in pipelines for gaseous flow media, in particular in air-conditioning and heat systems, outgoing-air and flue-gas pipes, in which device a moveable flap or plurality of moveable, interacting flap wings are arranged as actuating member in a pipe section. The invention consists in that as actuating member of the blocking flap (2) or flap wings there is provided at least one memory-metal coil (8) held at a fixed point (7), which coil is assigned a controllable heat source or is arranged in the media flow of the pipeline (1). The moveable end of the memory-metal coil (8) is non-positively connected to the blocking flap (2) or to the flap wing. When it contracts as a result of heating, it actuates the blocking flap (2) or the flap wings counter to the action of at least one restoring spring (10). <IMAGE>
