<p>A contact material contains silver and at least one metal, metal alloy or metallic compound having a higher melting point than silver. According to the invention, the material contains in addition to silver (Ag), from 2 to 50 wt.% of at least a nitride of the metals tantalum (Ta), titanium (Ti) or zirconium (Zr). It may also contain carbides and/or borides of the metals tantalum, titanium or zirconium. The material possesses a spectrum of contact properties essentially identical to that of AgNi 10, and can completely replace the latter.</p> |
