The present invention relates to an apparatus for filtering air discharged from an electric apparatus, such as a printer, a photocopying machine, a facsimile machine or telecopier or the like and containing a gas such as ozone and/or particles such as dust and carbon containing particles, e.g. paper and toner particles, whihich are to be filtered off, wherein said apparatus has a housing, which is adapted to be placed on a substantially plane substrate, such as a table or a floor, and has a substantially plane upper surface adapted to receive said electric apparatus on said plane upper surface, wherein the height of said housing is at least a factor 5, preferably a factor 10, smaller than the other outer dimensions of said housing, wherein said housing has an air inlet with or adapted to receive a tube or channel leading to an air discharge opening of said electric apparatus, an air outlet, means for receiving a substantially plane filter body having opposite plane surfaces, in which a filter inlet opening and a filter outlet opening are provided, and means for defining an air current path from said air inlet opening to said air outlet opening leading through said filter body from said filter inlet opening to said filter outlet opening. The present invention also relates to a filter body to be used in an apparatus according to the present invention and comprising an ozone binding or an ozone decomposing material. The filter body preferably comprises a filter frame defining said opposite, plane surfaces of said filter body and defining said filter inlet and outlet openings, fiber filter plates arranged within said filter frame adjacent to said filter inlet and outlet openings and a filling of activated carbon granules or powder confined between said fiber filter plates. |
