<p>A vertical ball-check valve for a sanitary diaphragm pump comprising a unitary housing (10) and valve seat (13), an elastomeric ball (14), preferably hollow to respond to low pump pressure, and a removable ball stop (16) to permit removal of the ball for inspection and cleaning of the valve housing (10). The ball (14), passageway, and ball stop (16) are sized relative to each other to provide space for solids which have passed through the valve seat (13) to be discharged from the outlet end without stalling the valve.</p> |
