<p>A method of processing two or more different granular materials to form an intimate mixture or dispersion thereof, e.g. to form an alloy thereof, is disclosed. The starting materials are ground together in a grinding apparatus which in one embodiment includes a generally conical grinding member (2) arranged to roll against a grinding surface (1). Grinding apparatus is also disclosed which comprises a grinding surface (1), a grinding member (2), and means for supporting the grinding member so that in use, it can be caused to move over the grinding surface to perform a grinding action, characterised in that the surface of the grinding member is stepped or undulating in form. Preferably, the grinding surface and grinding member are both conical, and both have stepped surfaces.</p> |
