PURPOSE: To produce a magnetic hexaferrite while optimizing as a medium for safety mark through an economically operable method by precipitating a barium compound on a specified iron oxide through potassium carbonate. CONSTITUTION: The pigment has general composition represented by M(I)1-x Kx M (II)y M(III)2 Fe12-(y+z) O19 . In the formula, M(I) is Ba, Sr, Ca, Eu, Pb or a combination with at least one monovalent cation selected from a group of RE and Li, An, Rb, Cs, Ag and Tl. RE is La, Y, Sc, Bi, or another rare earth metal. M(II) is Fe(II), Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Cu, Cd, Mg, or Sn(II), and M(III) is Ti, Zr, Hf, Ga, Sn(IV), Ge, In, Sc, Nb, Ta, V, As, Sb, Bi, Al, Cr(III), Mo or W. x, y and z are numbers of 0-3 where the sum of y and z is in the range of 0.0-3 and the sum of x, y and z is equal to or higher than 1. 0.01-3.0wt.% of potassium is further added to such a composition. |
