In the case of a method and/or a testing device which is used to detect leaks in the connection between the treatment head of a keg treatment machine and a keg fitting, which is mounted on the said treatment head, of a keg with respect to the outside and/or the inside of the keg and in particular to detect a defect in the connecting seal, which is provided on the connection side, of the treatment head and/or the keg fitting in question, and in the case of a treatment head which is closed off from a network of pipes inside the machine and of a keg fitting which rests against the connection seal, but with the treatment head transferring element not yet acting on this keg fitting, the said treatment head is subjected to low pressure from a low pressure source and then, when the low pressure source has been separated from the treatment head, the pressure prevailing in the treatment head after a predetermined testing time is measured and compared with a pre-set desired or threshold value. <IMAGE>
